J.C. Newman Brick House Bricktoberfest Churchill (2025) Provenance: Nicaragua Factory: PENSA Factory Wrapper: Ecuador (Habano Rosado) Binder: Nicaragua Filler: Nicaragua Vitola: Churchill (7 3/4” by 48) Strength/Profile: Medium These have been patiently aging since last year! Grab yourself a nice German lager and reserve a couple of hours of quiet contemplation to enjoy this Bricktoberfest Churchill from 2025. This Limited Edition cigar has been an annual release since 2017 and the Brick House brand itself can be explained as follows; “My grandfather, J.C. Newman, was born in the only house made out of brick in a small village in Austria-Hungary,” said Eric Newman in a press release when the cigar was announced last month. “He lived with his family on the second floor while the first floor was the local tavern and general store. The ‘Brick House’ cigar label depicts his family’s home. My ancestors gathered in the original ‘brick house’ to relax and celebrate with beer and cigars 150 years ago, and Bricktoberfest is the perfect way to celebrate the season with beer and Brick House cigars today.” The cigar itself has a gentle sweetness (apple), woody (oak) and tobacco notes (shock horror, tobacco notes in a cigar), shine through. Paired with a nice lager, the cigar suits that combo well. |
Micallef "A" Series Churchill (2022) Provenance: Nicaragua Factory: Micallef Wrapper: Nicaragua (Sumatra Maduro) Binder: undisclosed (Sumatra) Filler: Dominican Republic & Nicaragua Vitola: Torpedo (6 3/4” by 54) Strength: Medium Plus Micallef Cigars took an unprecedented approach for its company when developing the name for the Micallef A. They asked its most ardent fans to come up with a name. They came back with the “Micallef Ambassador,” which is a reference to the Micallef Cigars Ambassador Group, the brand’s fan club. After careful review, the company decided to call their latest maduro line the “Micallef A,” which is a nod of recognition to their club. The Micallef A features a coffee-brown Nicaraguan maduro wrapper that is adorned with a eye-catching band. The back of the band has a special message for Micallef fans. The wrapper covers a Sumatra binder and long-filler leaves from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It delivers a spicy, peppery and sweet smoking experience. These sadly all sold out very fast, but there are more coming mid-October. |
Micallef Colour Series Orange Toro (2026) Provenance: Nicaragua Factory: Micallef Wrapper: Ecuador (Connecticut Shade) Binder: Mexico (San Andres) Filler: Dominican Republic & Nicaragua Vitola: Toro (6" by 52) Strength: Medium Well, now I have yet another favourite Micallef Colour Series cigar! Though opinions are divided and also one of the things I love the most about the Micallef Colour Series - some love the Black, most love the Green and others think Purple is the best. Very keen to hear your feedback and see what you feel is the best of the Micallef Colour Series! The Micallef Orange delivers a smooth, approachable profile with a little more depth than you might expect from a Connecticut-wrapped cigar. Cream, cedar, toasted nuts and natural sweetness lead the way, while touches of earth and pepper add some extra character. These are a CORE regularly stocked product and can be found here. |
My Father Cigars Blue Toro (2025) Provenance: Honduras Factory: My Father Cigars Honduras Wrapper: USA (Connecticut Broadleaf) Binder: Honduras Filler: Honduras Vitola: Toro (6” by 54) Strength: Medium Plus This was the first cigar released from the Garcia's new Honduran factory, Blue (Blue representing the colour of the Honduran flag). The Garcia's have been growing tobacco in Honduras from around 2022 and the new Honduran factory is their fourth operation now (main factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, TACUBA their secondary factory in Estelí and a small rolling operation at its headquartes in Doral, Florida). Only the giants, STG and now the Garcia's have operations spanning three-countries producing premium, new-world cigars. Now back to the cigar, the My Father Cigars Blue is a fantastic new release, the Connecticut Broadleaf Rosado wrapper isn't as dark as you'd expect from a Connecticut Broadleaf, the entire blend (Corojo & Criollo) provides a medium plus cigar with notes of cocoa, cedar and a nice underlying sweetness. These will be a regularly stocked cigar, once we receive our next factory-direct order from My Father Cigars. |
