Hemingway - April 2022

Each month we receive a selection of the best, hand chosen, cigars delivered to our door via Hemingway. This is what we got this month!

Caldwell Lost & Found Malditos Bastardos Robusto (2017)

Origin: Dominican Republic Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano 2000 Binder: Sumatra Filler: Dominican

Part of the infamous Caldwell Lost & Found series; these cigars were rolled in 2017 and have been left sitting in the aging room of an undisclosed Dominican cigar factory ever since.

For a 5-year old cigar, they still pack plenty of flavour and a nice medium+ strength.

CAO Arcana Limited Edition Firewalker Toro (2022)

Origin: Nicaragua Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Nicaraguan Masatepe longfiller tobaccos

This is the seasonal release of the CAO Arcana series; Firewalker for 2022.

Medium-strength; medium-flavour; using a distinctive Masatepe region tobacco and aged using a method known as Chincagre; which involves burying the tobacco in volcanic soil which adds an interesting dimension to the tobacco flavour.

Casa Cuevas Patrimonio Toro

Origin: Dominican Republic (Casa Cuevas) Wrapper: Honduran Corojo Colorado Binder: Ecuadorian Habano Filler: Dominican, Peruvian & Nicaraguan longfiller tobaccos

This limited-release cigar was blended by Luis Cuevas Jr. and his son Alec to pay tribute to Luis Cuevas Sr. who after leaving Cuban carried on the family tradition of cigar production.

This is a full-strength, full-flavour cigar; enjoy!

Sensei's Sensational Sarsaparilla (2021)

Origin: Nicaragua (La Zona) Wrapper: Mexican San Andres Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Nicaraguan Esteli & Condega longfiller tobaccos

A joint project between Cigar Dogo and Espinosa retunrs again for a limited release in 2021.

This medium-strength Belicoso packs loads and loads of flavour; take your time; enjoy the sensation!

Punch Limited Edition Fu Manchu (2022)

Origin: Honduras Wrapper: Honduran Binder: Indonesian Filler: Dominican, Mexican & Nicaraguan longfiller tobaccos

Since 2019 the Punch cigar brand has released an annual Limited Edition cigar - following (so far) in the vein of Asian take-out dishes.

This year they say the packaging is to resemble a take-out soup cup and of course the Fu Manchu is represented by the extremely long pigtail.

This is also a dual-wrapper cigar; like the Joya de Nicaragua Cabinetta, this time the liter-tobacco is against the lips and the stronger tobacco makes up the bulk of the cigar.

A fantastic medium cigar (having smoked a number already, oops) celebrating the Year of the Tiger by Punch.
