Hemingway - November 2021
Each month we receive a selection of the best, hand chosen, cigars delivered to our door via Hemingway. This is what we got this month!
MoyaRuiz La Jugada Prieto Toro
Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro Epicure
Ponce Robusto Extra
Wynwood Hills Mayhem
Now for a little about each cigar from the Hemingway team!
MoyaRuiz La Jugada Prieto Toro
A very old classic for long-term customers of The Cigar Merchant
It is fair to say the MoyaRuiz La Jugada Habano and Prieto were absolute standouts about 8 years ago; then sadly they just disappeared.
Danny and Nelson finally made it back and re-released their once famous blend; perfected and rolled at the La Zona factory by Erik Espinosa of course.
We've had these sitting in the humidor for exactly one year, enjoy!
Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro Epicure
One HEMINGWAY member had the balls to say to me "shocked at how nice those Perdomo's are"
Everyone has a chance to be a comedian I guess; the Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Maduro is a damn fine cigar; damn fine indeed!
Using Cuban-seed Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper that brings a complex flavour profile; these are well-aged maduro's that are very tasty.
Ponce Robusto Extra
The jewel of the bunch
Sometimes you just take a punt and not often are you rewarded with such an outstanding result.
Ponce was probably the last "named" cigar I'd be running off to buy, but after chatting with the brand owner Frank and getting to understand his passion for tobacco; I took a punt.
Damn I am soo glad I did!
Silky smooth Mexican San Andres wrapper over Connecticut Broadleaf binder encasing Dominican, Nicaraguan and Pennsylvanian long filler tobaccos - an absolute dream of a cigar!
Wynwood Hills Mayhem (C.L.E.)
The second of the three Wynwood Hills releases
Medium-bodied this time around and sporting a Honduran Corojo wrapper; this Rothschild is a tasty afternoon cigar.
Part two of the three-part Wynwood Hills range of cigars from C.L.E. and created of course by the Master Christian Eiroa.
