DT&T Dondurma retails in NZ for the first time!

Thats right! for the first time ever, DT&T's limited edition Dondurma is available in NZ retail thanks to the team at Canteros!

This annual release is blended by Steve Saka of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, for his good friend Ronnie at Secreto Cigar Bar.

Dondurma is made in batches of only 1,500 cigars per year (150 boxes of 10-cigars)

The cigar is made up of an Ecuadorian habano “double dark rosado” wrapper from La Meca, a Mexican San Andrés negro “cultivo tonto” binder and three tobaccos sourced from Nicaragua: a five-year-old hybrid criollo ligero from Estelí, corojo 98 viso from Estelí and criollo 99 seco from Jalapa. In addition, the filler includes tobacco that Saka describes as a “variation of Wisconsin Comstock.”

“I first experienced (the desert Dondurma) while in the Navy ported in the seaside resort city of Antalya, Turkey”, said Saka. “As soon as I finished this “odd” blend it instantly reminded me of Dondurma – creamy, familiar and delicious, yet at the same time so different.”

The entire production of Dondurma so far were rolled by Artisto Torres and Josefa “Chepita” Perez at Joya de Nicaragua, who happens to be the same pair that rolls the Muestra de Saka Unicorn.

I have been fortunate enough to try 2 of these to date and can attest to them being damn tasty.

Currently there are 44 sticks available (down from 60 only an hour ago) so get in fast! these won't last and this particular years allocation is unlikely to make it to NZ again
